About
In an article about sussing feasibility, I told two stories of real estate “buyer beware”, and in so doing I began to germinate an idea about making a useful resource for people who are buying real estate and need to develop an acumen for basic due diligence around land use constraints. The idea sprouted as Building on Land in early 2019.
The Wrinkle
Are you contemplating a building project and you’re concerned about what you don’t know that you don’t know? For instance – that there are implications to building in the flood plain that could stop your project before it starts. Same with wetlands. Or maybe it’s a variety of regulations and situations that could very well conspire to stop your project?
The Resource
The first priority of this website is to provide a useful resource: alerts to the blind spots and answers to the basic questions that crop up when one is considering to build on land. The next priority of this website is to provide generally useful content on the myriad of subject matters related to planning, designing and building on land.
The Result
The information on this site will empower the home buyer or home owner to go into a purchase or a project with confidence. Or to walk away from it with confidence! Either way, the outcome is smart.
